The world war 2 was fought between 1939 to 1945 for six long years during this period lot of events happened one of them is this that japan attacked on US naval base at Pearl Harbor. America joined the world war after this attack. Pearl harbor is located on Honolulu Island on south eastern part of America in Pacific Ocean. It is beautiful island surrounded by mountains and now a famous tourist attraction in the world. This attack Happened on December 7, 1941.
Biggest Event in starting of 20th century is that Russia and Japan battled in 1904 because of China to gain control over China.But Japan defeated the Russians which is one of the biggest Kingdoms that has also affected India. And on the other side China lost all the battles during 19th century.
In 1937 Japan again declared war on China resulting in the Nanking Massacre and other atrocities.America was unhappy about this event and the expansion of Japan. And then America put the Economic Sanction on Japan and essentials supplies like oil, import and export all closed and then Japan gets angrier. And in 1939 Hitler started world war 2. And in 1940 Japan Italy and Germany sign a Tripartite agreement to fight together access powers. Japan wants to control Asian Part. And instead the sanctions made the Japanese more determined to stand their ground.
And in Asia also as the Japan has become more stronger and powerful than ever they started their dominance. They occupied many countries like Burma and many more islands in the pacific Ocean. So you can think that how much stronger and powerful has they become as they have also defeated the Great Russian Empire which was very powerful at that time and they also wanted to gain the control over China. So this greed and hunger for control power of Japan made them to attack the Pearl Harbor also. But they don't know against whom they were taking the war as US retaliate with full force after that.

Meiji Restoration happened in Japan in 1868 that brought about the final demise of the Tokugawa shogunate(military government) thus ending the Edo period and, at least nominally, returned control of the country to direct imperial rule under Mutsuhito. Earlier japan has closed economy but under the pressure of America Japan has to open it's it's economy in 1868. America is requesting Japan since 1860 to open their economy for them and after it restoration period begins.In late 1880's japan brings new constitution and things changed from here. Now emperor has the all powers and imperial army of Japan get formed in a way Japan has changed itself and become more powerful and started to expand it's territory in terms of economy. Attack On Pearl Harbor :
They started to plan a attack in 1940 & started training on island like pearl harbor . And they were trained to escaped the radar and to fly on low altitude and to bomb the carrier and the navel attack is almost impossible. With a full plan japan attacked on US naval base Pearl harbor on 7 December, 1941 Due to frustration of Sanctions and to control over Pacific Region they did it.But the main Aircraft carriers of US were not at the Pearl Harbor. They want to destroy the carriers but couldn't succeeded in it.If carriers were destroyed then America Could have been in trouble.But they attacked just before 8 a.m. on that day Sunday morning, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes descended on the base where they managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships, and over 300 airplanes.
More than 2400 Americans died in the attack and over 1000 were wounded. the day after the assault, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked congress to declare war on Japan. Japan plan to destroy all military equipment and they leaves at 6:10 and it was holiday and start bombing at 7:55 a.m.on pearl harbor and goes on destroying everything that comes in their way and it was only the 1st Wave and 2nd wave came at 12 o'clock and was more devastating and brutal and before the 3rd wave they called off the attack thinking that they have destroyed the air craft carriers.
Impact Of Attack :
The Impact of this attack was very hard that US could not even respond immediately as they were in shock and many people were Dying in front of the officials. In this pearl Harbor destroyed completely 20 American Ships and more than 300 airplanes destroyed. 2403 sailors, soldiers and civilians were killed & over 1000 were wounded. But the Japanese had failed to cripple the Pacific fleet all the pacific fleet's were away from the base on 7 December. And this is how America got entered into the World War 2 after 2 years of war started. And after the Midway wars were fought and later on US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki and after these bombings Japan never Rise up.
But it all happened during world war 2 but now both US and Japan are good friends. US provides the protection to the Japan as Japan has no army as US bombed the Nuclear Bombs and the effect of radiation can seen today as many disabled children were born till now.

So yeah this is all about the attack on Pearl Harbor from where it all started and how plannings and attack happened. After this attack America got it's entry into world war 2 and ultimately that also ends with the end of Hitler in Europe. At that time in 1941 relations between America and Japan were not that much easy as they were very worst. After this attack US also changes many of it's policy after the end of world war. This event improved economy and improved the lifestyle US. Many still think of it look at it as an attack, but it could be looked as a new beginning for America.
